Equip people and organizations with in-demand skills
Covalent is the first Workforce Operations platform built for the world’s most complex manufacturing environments. We help manufacturers streamline workforce processes—from training to task assignment—to improve productivity and quality.
Covalent was born out of a research project backed by the Future of Work Initiative at Harvard in 2016, focused on addressing the growing manufacturing skills gap. The Covalent founding team quickly discovered that manufacturers lacked a critical dataset: job-specific training. Without structured visibility into workforce capabilities, companies struggled to upskill, cross-train, and adapt to an ever-changing industry.
To solve this, we built Covalent OJT—a digital training platform designed to facilitate skills development and future-proof manufacturing workforces. What began as an On-the-Job Training (OJT) application in 2018 has since evolved into a full-scale Workforce Operations platform. In 2023, we expanded with resource optimization and performance analysis modules, empowering thousands of global manufacturers to train, manage, and optimize their workforce.
Even as our platform has grown to meet the evolving needs of our customers, our mission remains the same: Equip people and organizations with in-demand skills.
Our team is made up of highly motivated experts in engineering, manufacturing and technical training, all focused on delivering measurable value to manufacturers. We believe that by structuring workforce data and making it actionable, we can help manufacturers maximize efficiency, adaptability, and performance.
Manufacturers today face increasing pressure to manage their workforce efficiently in the face of:
Yet, the tools available to manage the frontline workforce remain outdated:
Manufacturers need a new approach—one that treats workforce data as a strategic asset, just like materials, machinery, and production processes.
Covalent is building a modern workforce operations platform designed specifically for manufacturing. Our goal is to maximize labor productivity— helping manufacturers meet the increasingly complex demands of production by connecting the right data and processes to the right people at the right time.
It starts with structuring historically fragmented data around worker capabilities. It ends with a suite of solutions for frontline operators, leaders, and functional managers—enabling data-driven decisions that improve efficiency, quality, and workforce agility.
We call this Workforce Operations—bringing critical workforce processes into the context of real manufacturing operations.
